Northwest Nachos

Makes 6 Servings


  • 1 can (15 ounces) Pacific Northwest Canned Pear halves or slices, in juice
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 6 cups tortilla chips
  • 3/4 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup diced fresh tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup chopped green onions

    Drain pears reserving juice for another use. Dice pears and set aside. Heat oil in large skillet. Stir in onions; cook stirring frequently until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Stir in ground turkey; cook stirring to break up, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Stir in paprika and cayenne; cook 1 minute. Stir in salsa ; remove from heat and keep warm. To serve, mound chips on large platter or individual serving plates. Top evenly with turkey mixture. Top evenly with reserved diced pears, yogurt, tomatoes, cheese and green onions.
